I came across a very interesting geek debate on Digg, related to this story on BBC News.

More than 150 passengers and crew have been rescued from a stricken tourist ship after it hit ice off Antarctica. The M/S Explorer is now lying on its side close to the South Shetland Islands, in the Antarctic Ocean.

As usually, when a bunch of geeks get together, things soon become obvious, too obvious … These are just some extracts from the comments by Digg users:

- MS explorer crashes. Outlook not good.

- Did the ship Bob?

- It was held together with Clippy

- I’m just glad this didn’t happen to ME

- It’s no surprise that this hit the FrontPage

- Well, Paint me surprised.

- Luckily the other ships picked up their 404 signal.

- OneNote, Access to such treacherous waters should be limited to ships which Excel at breaking through icebergs…

- I wonder if the penguin had anything to do with this?

And the discussion goes on

After reviewing the Best Skins Ever skin for iPod touch, I thought it would be only fair to review the Invisible Shield iPod touch skin as well. The folks from ZAGG Inc were kind enough to supply a free sample skin, as well as a few strips of material for the review.

Invisible Shield retail pack

The skin arrived in a well padded retail pack, consisting of the skin itself (front and back covers), application solution spray bottle, installation squeegee and the installation instructions sheet. continue reading…

Just got a new iPod touch yesterday and already had a bit of trouble having it in my pocket all day today while out with the family. I was freaking out every time I drop the keys into my pocket, even tough I checked first that the iPod is in the other one, like three times …

So the task for this evening was to find some protection for the new toy. After I nearly bought a leather case, I came across BSE website and surprise, surprise… the iPod touch skin is already available. Sweet. So I placed an order for two iPod touch Total body skins (one for me and one for my wife… our iPods that is).

Good thing is that the skin is very inexpensive, normally $7.99 (USD) but BSE have them on sale for $5.99 each. The postage is also not a killer, only $1.50 for the lot to Australia, and if you order three skins then the postage is free to anywhere in the world.

Update 18/10/2007: The skins have arrived today, read my review here.

So, if you are after the new skin for your iPod touch, head straight to BestSkinsEver website and get some.

Just came across this manual and thought I’d share it, as you also may need to install the hard dish in your computer.

Earlier today I visited my sister who returned last week from the trip to Africa. She showed me quite a few pictures she’s taken in Tanzania, but one picture caught my attention in a special way – the one of her reaching the top of Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, 5,895 m asl (some 20,000 feet) and proud climbers take a lot of pictures, just like my sister did. Some even put some stickers on the summit signs and boxes (see in the background).

But I really wonder who on earth would think of taking an Apple sticker to the roof of Africa ?
