Adobe Lightroom adjustment brush problem – resolved
Users of MacBook Pro computers with Intel HD Graphics 3000 have been experiencing problems with the adjustment brush in Lightroom for quite some time now. The brush would work fine if the size is under 16 or over 26, but anything in-between was a no go zone. The brush pointer (circled “+” sign) appears about 130 pixels up and left from its effective position and it would apply change even the brush outline is not visible.
This was reported to both Apple and Adobe, and Adobe was quick enough to respond that this was nothing to do with their software, and rightfully so, but rather with MBP graphics card drivers. Meanwhile, and much to the userbase frustration, Apple took their time to look into this issue.
Finally, the OS X 10.7.3 release has addressed this and the adjustment brush works normally once again.
I have observed similar behavious with several tools in Photoshop Elements 9, and this appears to be fixed as well.
Thumbs up for fixing this Apple, but thumbs down for taking so long.
