Mind mapping software for Mac OS X
Sun, 6 April 2008
I’ve been using MindJet MindManager for quite a while at work, on Windows of course, but never used anything like that on Mac. I knew that there was an OS X version, but I wanted to explore if there are any other products that do the same or similar thing on Mac. To my surprise there are quite a few, so I thought I’d share the list.
- MindJet MindManager
- Concept Draw Mindmap
- Buzan’s iMandMap
- Nova Mind Mind Mapping
- Xmind 2008
- Free Mind
- Mind Node
- Curio
- iTunes changes its mind on MiniStore
- Sony to support AAC
- Microsoft sinks to a new low
- RapidWeaver 3.5 public beta released
- Fonts incorrectly rendered on silver iMac
Web hosting - UNLIMITED space and transfer - $ 6.95 per month

Two more that I know of and have used are…
OmniGraffle (http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/OmniGraffle/)
and
SMART Ideas (http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Products/SMART+Ideas/)

Hi Mike. Your post nudged me towards a post I’ve meant to do for months: post what I think is a close to complete list of all mind mapping and concept mapping software that runs on Macs.
The post on Mac-based mapping is here:
http://www.mind-mapping.org/blog/?p=141 and I’ve backlinked to your post as well.
This lists 34 applications, and mentions the browser based ones as well (there are 11 of those). There are also some diagrammers (which is how I would characterize OmniGraffle, suggested by Thomas) which can be used as mind mappers as well, but they’re not so mindmap-aware.
Cheers
Vic

Have a look at PersonalBrain (www.thebrain.com).
Very nice software, both from functional and from visual point of view!
