Browse other Time Machine back-up disks
Sun, 17 February 2008
There is a nice little feature in 10.5.2 that lets you browse the other Time Machine back-up disks. In your menu bar you will now find the Time Machine icon. Click on it and the menu will expand: Back Up Now, Enter Time Machine, and Open Time Machine Preferences.
However, if you have another disk that contains Time Machine back-ups, you can access it by simply clicking on Time Machine menu bar icon and holding the Option key. The third menu item changes to Browse Other Time Machine Disks. Clicking this will open a window where you can select the disk you want.

Another way of doing this is by right-clicking the Time Machine in the Dock and selecting the same option.

- Time machine screen saver
- Change login screen background
- MacBook Pro
- Back to Windows for 10 days
- The first hard disk - 50 years ago
Web hosting - UNLIMITED space and transfer - $ 6.95 per month

Great feature, it’s true — but I’m still stuck. My laptop died, and I bought a Mac Mini. I’m trying to restore files from the external hard drive backup, but the files I need are marked with red minus signs and I’m told I don’t have sufficient access privileges. I’ve been online all night trying to find a solution. Help?
