Apple sued over 20″ iMac displays
Thu, 3 April 2008
An iMac owner sued Apple on Monday claiming the 20-inch iMac desktop computers can’t display the “millions of colors” Apple promises in promotional materials.
The Cupertino-based company touts that ability on its website and other marketing material even though it knows iMac monitors can display only 262,144 true colours, according to the lawsuit, filed in US District Court for the Northern District of California.

The problem is Apple is cutting corners and being dishonest. It’s not wrong to sue a company that willingly misleads the consumer.
The problem with Apple is it knows it has a foolish fanboy base who will accept anything with an Apple logo as god sent! You fanboys need to wake up and understand Apple is just draining $$$$ out of you EXAMPLE : Apple ram prices!
Anyway Apple should correct this problem and be forced to be honest. Years ago Hewlett Packard used to sale PC’s in the US advertised as new but when you opened up the box it said new and refurbished parts. Now Apple is not selling refurbed parts(I hope) but the advertising dishonesty is the same no matter how the fanboys spin it.

David J - I quite agree!
Jeroen - unless you think apple is god, then no!
I think I should sue them too! I’ll try here in the UK, although I dont know how to pretend that I didn’t know this before….

Do you count your change? If the change is supposed to be $9.19 and the sales clerk only gave you $1.19 would you just smile? Or would you ask for your change?
What if you bought a BMW and found out that it really was a Hyundai?
