Switch off iMac screen in one click
Tue, 14 August 2007
We all wished that iMac had a switch that turns off the display while some application is running all night. Well, there is a nice little set of applications called Dockables, that does exactly this.
Dockables bring the system event access straight to your Dock. I currently have four Dockables icons in my Dock: close apps, hide apps, sleep, and sleep display. The last one is worth gold. All you do is click on it in Dock, and voila - your display goes to sleep while the computer is still running.

Other Dockables are: Shut Down, Start Default Screen Saver, Restart, Empty Trash, Eject Media, Log Out, Mute Sound, Sleep Display, and Screenshot.
Dockable is free and can be downloaded from CocoaApp website.
