January 1984, annual shareholders meeting - Cupertino, California. Steve Jobs introducing the famous ‘1984′ ad. Enjoy!

The video caption claims it’s “Fall 1983″, YouTube header is “Apple keynote”, but according to TUAW user cuda440, this video is from the shareholders meeting in early 1984.

That was at the January 1984 annual shareholder’s meeting, held at the Flint Center, De Anza College, Cupertino. I know because I was there, as were nearly all of my fellow Apple employees. Obviously this was before MacWorld, and the shareholder’s meeting was where major product announcements were made.

and Mike, about the new look, it is good although… I dunno.. I miss the finder icon.. and the old look of the site is one factor that got me hooked to your site, apart from the great articles.

  4. Actually this is fall 1983, at the salesforce conference in Hawaii. The 1984 shareholder meeting Jobs does the same routine. But he is wearing a bow tie and suit in that one.
