Problems with Boot Camp
Thu, 18 January 2007
When installing Boot Camp and trying to partition your drive, you may get the following message: Boot Camp assistant cannot be used. Your startup disk is not supported.
It is very likely that your drive already has more than one partition. The only way to make Boot Camp work is to repartition your startup disk so that it only has one partition.
There are two ways of doing this. You can either use third party utilities to convert to one partition without wiping your disk ( Volume Works, iPartition), or you can simply back up your data and applications, wipe your disk, repartition it and reinstall OS X. Once this is done you can reattempt installing Boot Camp and partition your drive again.
