No Remote rest for Apple Remote on new iMacs
Thu, 23 August 2007
Several bloggers have reported that Apple has decided to move the magnet that holds Apple Remote attached to the computer, to the front, namely to the lower-right corner of the glass screen cover.
This is actually incorrect, Apple has decided to remove the magnet altogether, and in their own words:
The iMac (Mid 2007) ships with an Apple Remote. Unlike some previous iMac models, the iMac (Mid 2007) does not include a magnetic Remote rest for storing the remote on the iMac.

So the only magnet that is found in that area is actually one of the magnets that hold the screen cover and the computer together, and it is fairly small to hold the Apple Remote in place.

I wonder if there’s a particular reason, or if it’s just cos the remote is white and the designers thought it would clash!

I am so glad I found this. Mac for dummies said it would stick and every where else I found said ti would stick but for the life of me, Mine didn’t. I don’t think I would keep it there, but it was driving me crazy trying to find the blasted magnet
Thanks
