Just a quick update. The iPhoto plug-in betas are now closed and the full production versions of the plug-ins are available. The plug-ins, which all come with a 15-day try before you buy period, can be found at http://www.ubermind.com/products/

Hey,

There are some new iPhoto '08 export plug-ins (currently in beta) that I encourage all of you to check out.

GalleryExport for iPhoto exports to and helps to manage Gallery installations.
UberUpload for iPhoto is an FTP and SFTP export plug-in.
iPhoto to Picasa Web Albums uploads files to Google’s Picasa Web Albums, with more functionality and an easier to use interface than you'll find in Google’s own iPhoto plug-in.
iPhoto to Archive allows you to easily bundle photos into popular archive formats including .zip and disk image (Dave, you might be interested in this if you're still experiencing the migration issues you wrote about above).

If interested, go to http://www.ubermind.com/beta/ and give 'em a spin.

I've tried to use the PicasaWebAlbums iPhoto exporter and it doesn't seem to work with iPhoto 7 (iLife '08). Since you've listed it as working, can you explain if there's anything special you did to make this happen? When photos are selected, and File -> Export is chosen, Picasa is not listed in the tabs to export. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

great site, bookmarked :)
do you know of a way to export all photos to a new hard drive? I've started using lightroom and i'm not going back to iphoto. but my photos are spread between a couple hard drives (i am e-messy)
the export thing stalls after about 5000 photos exported (half way through the whole library)
any idea? thanks :)

If you can find an exporter that properly converts iPhoto's "Generic RGB" profile to an sRGB one before uploading (especially to Flickr), so that the pictures don't look washed-out and horrible in any browser that doesn't support Colorsync profiles properly (e.g. Firefox et al), I will immediately declare you a Mac God! :-)

I've been looking for ages, but so far no luck. It's a minor obsession of mine!

Bill, there is a bit of work involved in this, but this is how it goes.

Open iPhoto in Events view. Now click one event, say Holiday. On the left, under Recent, the first item will be event you have just selected - Holiday. Click on it and it will expand in the preview pane on right.

Now click on any photo on the right and press Command-A on your keyboard. Now that you have selected all photos in that event, click File | Export and follow the usual way to export. You will have to create a folder called Holiday on your desktop, though.

Along the same line, how do you export events in the new iphoto to folders, with the event name being the folder name?
