All new iPod … errr, I mean iPond
Sun, 16 December 2007
A tiny fish tank that doubles as a music speaker has sparked outrage among animal activists and aquarists in Australia. The iPond - up to 15 times smaller than the recommended tank size for the fish it contains - is proving a hit with Christmas shoppers selling at $70 AU ($60 US).

But the RSPCA has called on the device to be banned because it is too small to provide fish with adequate oxygen supplies and a clean environment.
Users can play their iPods through a speaker built into the bottom of the brick-shaped tank. The tank’s water capacity is about 650millilitres once rocks are placed in it.Pets Paradise is selling Siamese fighting fish with the iPond.

Cool iPond (or iTank? iFish? confusing…), but I don’t think that fish would survive for long in that tiny tank.
One thing, what is that case of the iPod? Looks cool to me.

To be honest, this actually pisses me off to no end. Surely anyone who’d keep a living creature in a thing like that would have to be devoid of empathy to not feel a need to break the damn thing and let the fish out. I can’t believe someone actually came up with this idea and sold it outside the 70s!
