Photo Drop

Photo Drop is a Mac OS X utility written by Aram Kudurshian that allows you to create small, customized droplets that turn the tedious task of modifying a folder of images into a simple drag-and-drop operation. Using photo Drop, you can create a droplet in a seconds that can resize an image to new dimensions, convert the original image to a new format, or even flip the image horizontally.
It is very handy in my day to day use as i tend to resize images to 420 pixels wide fit my blog and photo Drop is perfect tool to do this. Initially, I would import the photo into the iPhoto and then specify dimensions and export it. not any more. With photo Drop I just created a droplet on my desktop so I simply drag the image over the droplet icon and voila - it’s all done.
Program, or let’s call it utility, has a very simple and easy to use interface. The screenshot below has been resized, well guessed - using photo drop.

You can add Artist, Copyright and Description to the image properties and you can also add an icon, which I found very cool. So when I resized this image …

… and ticked Add icon to image, this is what it looked like on my desktop:

Really nice. Other things you can do is you can add padding to images, convert image types and you can even resample them.
The price ? A big smile and a Thankyou will do, I guess. But if you want to do more, there is always donation button on Aram’s website.
